Summer is right around the corner! Remember as the weather gets warmer children need to be dressed properly, and sunscreen is a must! We always ensure that the children have sunscreen with an SPF of 40 or more.

We're having some crazy weather outside today, but Nursery Two is still open! If your child will not be attending please make sure you call us so we know. Drive safely, and use caution! Happy Friday! - Allie Welcome back from Christmas Break everyone! We all hope that it was an enjoyable time. As we get back into the swing of things with the new year, please don't forget that it can get very cold outside! Each child needs a hat, mittens, coat, boots, and snow pants, every day. Brr, stay warm! Happy New Year! - Allie As of this week, our Nutritional Provider Mellanie is now on maternity leave. We will all miss you Mell! Everybody wishes you luck for when your new baby arrives :) A big welcome back to Janet!! Janet will be taking over her previous role of Nutritional Provider while Mellanie is off on leave with her little one. With the colder weather now here, it is very important that the children are arriving prepared for the day. Mittens, hats, coats, and boots are all necessary as the children go outside every day, weather permitting. And don't forget to "Fall Back" this weekend with your clocks. It's daylight savings time again! Who's excited for an extra hour of sleep?! I know I sure am. - Allie Well, September is finally under way! We have our first week under our belt, and things are going great. This was the first week for our newest program, Nursery Two @ St. Joseph's. Everything is going smoothly, and we are loving it! Since our St. Joseph's program is still new we are currently working on putting the finishing touches, such as a phone number, in place. For now, please contact us at our St. John location. We hope everyone is enjoying being back to school! This year was our first year of implementing our School Age Curriculum. We have to say - it went very well! We received so much positive feedback from staff, children, and parents. As with all first drafts, changes sometimes need to occur. Now that we have one full school year of our Curriculum under our belts, we can tweak certain aspects and continue to create an enjoyable and educational experience for the children. This summer we will be making some minor changes to the Curriculum - as well, there will be so many more fun experiments and activities to look forward to! Don't forget that we have listed an Overview of each week within our Curriculum on our site. You can find it here. All activities listed were completed this past school year. Also, feel free to ask any staff member to take a quick peek at our School Age Curriculum binders - we are very proud of them!! Check back to our Overview page in September to see the changes we have made! - Allie Nursery Two is so excited that we are opening a fourth location! We cannot wait to add more families to our N2 community. Nursery Two @ St. Joseph's at Fleming is planned to open for September 2012. Contact us now to get your child(ren) signed up! Visit our N2 @ St. Joseph's page to read more. We look forward to meeting everyone and forming community partnerships! Child care matters to us, and we hope it does to you too! Check out this website: www.childcarematterstome.ca While there you can create an account (it takes less than 2 minutes) and do so much to help with the child care situation in Ontario. You can sign an online petition, send an email to your local MPP (it is already written, so it only takes a few clicks!) and even read other parents' stories about why child care matters to them. Please take a few minutes out of your time today and help us make a difference! Child care matters! - Allie As of September 2011 Nursery Two started to implement our new School Age Curriculum. Each day we have set activities or experiments planned for with the children. Some weeks we focus on science, others on exotic foods, the children's interests, and more! Every activity is connected back to ELECT - check out the School Age ELECT Continuum of Development, posted on our program bulletin boards. Please take some time to review our Weekly Overview of the curriculum we have been doing, here. We are currently on Week Twenty Six and the children are loving it! - Allie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkNzRjXK3hc Please take some time to view the above video.
